HoodiThin Liquid Hoodia Review 9/10

February 2nd, 2009

HoodiThin

Overall – Highly recommended (9/10)

HoodiThin is a liquid extract derived from pure hoodia. The liquid is claimed to be more potent and fast acting than the typical powdered form in capsules. Due to the different nature of the liquid, it is not quite so simple to compare required amounts, and the manufacturer’s recommended dose has been used to compare value for money.

If you do not like to take tablets or capsules, or just prefer to take your hoodia dissolved in a drink, then HoodiThin is possibly for you. The quick absorption and high concentration may help some people manage appetite better than the solid varieties of hoodia and Hoodithin appears to have the best value for money, although this may not be a valid calculation due to the difference between liquid and powdered hoodia. Please comment and let us know if you find this to be the case…

Hoodia Diet Pills - Letting Nature Take Over From Science

Hoodia diet pills have gained tremendous popularity recently, and it is not hard to understand why.  In the western world it seems that the vast majority of people are not only overweight, but dangerously so.  Obesity is one of the biggest threats to the health and longevity of a significant proportion of the Western world.

Not surprisingly, at almost every turn we are inundated with advertisements, articles and health warnings all focusing on the health problems of being overweight, and encouraging almost all of us to lose at least some of our excess weight.  Diets and dietary supplements are available in almost every combination, and most of us have tried and least one of the currently popular diets available.

But with so many of these health warnings encouraging us to lose weight, and with so many fat-free or low-fat products available in shops, why is the problem of obesity still so widespread?

The answer is simply convenience.  We eat poorly and exercise rarely as a result of our busy and hectic lives.  We simply don’t have time to lose weight, exercise as much as we ought to, or spend time in the kitchen cooking healthy meals with fresh produce.

It is for this reason that diet pills or dietary supplements have gained significant interest and attention from a great number of people.  One of be most popular and exciting dietary pills or supplements to help with significant weight loss are hoodia diet pills.  But are diet pills safe?  You are almost certainly not alone in having concerns regarding taking dietary pills concocted in laboratories by faceless scientists.  Although it is extremely sensible to be cautious, one of the main reasons why Hoodia has become one of the most interesting dietary supplements on the market is because science didn’t create Hoodia Gordonii - nature did.

Far away in the arid Kalahari Desert there is a quite unremarkable little succulent called hoodia Gordonii.  Although this plant is a relatively new discovery for the western world, the aboriginal bushmen have long known of its remarkable ability to hold back hunger.  As they set out on one of their long hunting expeditions they would begin by eating some of the juicy hoodia flesh. Because this suppressed hunger in an entirely natural way, the bushmen were able to continue hunting with the minimum of food.  In such an arid region, this is a very important advantage.

It is often the case that science can invent very little that nature has not already invented herself, and when it was discovered that the bushmen were using this apparently innocent little cactus to stave off the need to eat for such a remarkably long period of time, suddenly Hoodia Gordonii became a celebrity.

Although creating hoodia diet pills has not simply been the case of turning a succulent plant into a dry capsule, science has had to do very little, since the power of hoodia was more than sufficient without laboratories messing around with chemical compounds.  Nevertheless it is important to acknowledge the lengthy research that scientists had to undertake in order to isolate which particular chemical it was in the cactus that was causing this amazing suppression of hunger.  Believe it or not this research took almost three decades to complete!

Hoodia works in an extremely straightforward way, achieving the very thing that science was so anxious to develop, but in an entirely natural way.  As you eat, the amount of glucose in your blood naturally increases.  Your brain is constantly monitoring the amount of glucose that is in your blood, and when an appropriate level has been reached, your brain sends out a signal to tell you that you are no longer hungry, and so you stop eating.  What hoodia diet pills do is to mimic the glucose molecule in a very substantial way.  Only a very small amount of hoodia is required to trick the brain into thinking that a very significant amount of glucose is present.  Your brain then believes that the correct glucose level has been reached, and sends a signal to let you know that you are no longer hungry.  Your hunger is switched off, and you are free to then spend several days hunting in the Kalahari Desert or enjoying a less physical lifestyle, but in either case without the need to feel hungry and eat more than we actually need.

If you are one of the tremendous number of people who have been anxious to lose some weight, but have found that traditional diets and dietary supplements have not worked for you, and perhaps you have been anxious about taking dietary pills, then hoodia diet pills could very well be the answer that you are looking for.  Nothing could be more natural than an unremarkable little cactus-like plant growing in the African desert, and nothing is likely to be as effective at helping you to combat excessive hunger as Hoodia Gordonii.

Hoodia Diet Pill Reviews

November 17th, 2008

Due to the considerable hype generated by the weight loss and diet pill industry about hoodia diet pills, it is quite difficult to judge the quality of a product by looking at their high-gloss websites. One online commentator claims that between 60%-80% of all hoodia weight loss products are not what they claim, ranging from not entirely pure through to not even remotely close. You can read more about why you need to find quality hoodia diet pill reviews.

There are six checks to prove that a company is selling pure Hoodia Gordonii appetite suppressant, and they should display all six certificates on their website.

Any company that imports Hoodia Gordonii to the USA from South Africa must have – and should display – three official government certificates. The first CITES certificate is an authorisation to deal in an endangered species (such as Hoodia Gordonii). Do not deal with any company that does not display their CITES certificate prominently on their website.

The second certificate is a “Phytosanitary” permit issued by the government of South Africa permitting the dealer to remove the product from South Africa.

The third certificate is issued by the US Dept of Agriculture (and simply known as the USDA certificate) to permit the dealer to import the product into the USA. If the manufacturer claims to directly import Hoodia Gordonii from South Africa then they should be displaying both of these certificates on their website.

Independent Testing

With the increasing numbers of suspect sellers of hoodia online, most reputable manufacturers regularly submit their products to a well known independent testing facility which has the authority to certify genuine hoodia products. While there are four recognised labs that can do the testing, most companies seem to present certificates from Alkemist Labs in California.

There are three different tests to ensure the sample is what it claims to be, and unless you are a chemist yourself you don’t need to know much about them. They are known as HPTLC, HPLC and MM-DPD, with HPTLC being the most important. At the very least you should be able to see an HPTLC certificate, if not all three.
If the company does not display results certificates from an independent testing facility, do not buy from them. Needless to say, all of the companies reviewed here have passed those tests.

Finally, as a matter of good customer service you should expect that the company offers a toll free information line that will also handle orders (if you prefer the phone to buying online) and a clear refund policy if you’re not happy with the product.

To allow cost comparison the ‘value for money’ has been calculated based on a 3000mg daily dose, which is a fairly typical amount as advised by the manufacturers. Every person is different and will have to make their own choice as to daily dose, but by making this estimate you can now compare apples with apples. Obviously the value improves significantly when you increase the order size. For comparison purposes the price here is the single item cost, and includes the stated shipping fee.

Desert Burn Hoodia

Overall – Highly recommended (10/10)

A pioneer of the US hoodia manufacturing industry, Desert Burn were the first to produce a 750mg capsule, and the first to produce a 1000mg tablet. Hoodia

Hoodoba

Overall – Highly Recommended (9/10)

Hoodoba offers hoodia in sizes up to 750mg, with several options of 400mg for those who don’t need or want the largest size. They are the best option for customers outside the USA and also offer a liquid hoodia product. Hoodoba complies with 5/6 trust indicators, but has not displayed the South African Phytosanitary certificate on their website. Their range is not as great as Desert Burn and their daily ‘value for money’ doesn’t seem quite as good either.

  • Independent Testing, complies with all three accepted tests
  • CITES and USDA import/export certificates
  • Ships outside USA
  • In business over 2 years
  • 750mg available, with 400mg alternative
